underscored that the signing of the agreement for the Lima 2027 Parapan American Games reaffirms our country's commitment to ensuring the success of this sporting event.
In her speech, the top official stated that organizing these games is a challenge taken on by the Government with a strong sense of responsibility and love for sports.
The Head of State highlighted that our country has proven to be an excellent host and also has first-class infrastructure.
"The agreement signed today between the Peruvian State and the Americas Paralympic Committee is a tangible and powerful proof of the trust our country inspires and the commitment we have to ensure this event's success," she stated.
The President indicated that the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), in collaboration with the Municipality of Lima's Surquillo district and the Peruvian Paralympic Committee, will build the first high-performance center for para-athletes in Peru, marking a milestone in the country's sports history.
Likewise, she highlighted the outstanding performance of Peruvian para-athletes in both the Lima 2019 and Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games, expressing confidence that they will win many more medals in 2027.
Furthermore, the Head of State specified that the IPD has created the 2025-2028 Olympic cycle program with a budget of S/23.55 million (about US$6.42 million), made up of 14 athletes and para-athletes.
Moreover, Mrs. Boluarte mentioned that the creation of the Lima 2027 program is planned, offering benefits to athletes with medal potential.
Lastly, the top official stated that hosting the Lima 2027 Parapan American Games will benefit the country by boosting the economy through tourism promotion and positioning Peru as an inclusive and modern sports destination.
"In unity, we will make Lima 2027 the best Parapan American Games in history," she concluded.
This event took place at the Government Palace in Lima on Wednesday.
